As the school year comes to a close, let's take a look at the present and future updates for Rockford's Freshman Center.

The NOW
As of May 19, renovations to the IT offices and the new IT addition have been completed and officially turned over for use. These upgrades are part of a broader effort to modernize and expand key areas within the building.
Work is actively underway on several major updates, including:
A 2,000-square-foot addition with ongoing mechanical and electrical rough-ins
A full renovation of the main IT office area to create a more welcoming and functional space
Chiller and air conditioning upgrades to improve building comfort
Beginning June 9—immediately after the school year ends—our team will begin the next phase of construction. This includes:
Full bathroom renovations, including improved accessibility from the cafeteria
Cafeteria renovations, which will remove the current stage and transform the space into an open, flexible common area
Additional mechanical system upgrades to improve building efficiency
Looking ahead, we’ll also begin converting the existing LGI Room, IT Offices, and Teachers Lounge into innovative new Project Labs. This phase will extend through spring break of 2026 and is a key step toward creating more dynamic, hands-on learning environments for our students.
